Floors for offices, shops and other business spaces

Commercial floors take a different beating than a home's: more foot traffic, rolling chairs and carts, and less tolerance for downtime. The installation itself is the same craft we bring to residential jobs: get the old floor out, get the base flat, put the new floor down correctly.

The planning is what changes. Staff, customers and deliveries keep moving around the work, so the order of areas and the timing are worked out before anyone pulls up a tile.

Choosing a commercial floor

The right surface depends on traffic, spills and the impression you want customers or staff to get. Samples come to your site so you can judge them in your own lighting.

  • Vinyl plank: copes with spills and heavy traffic; common in offices and retail
  • Laminate: hard, scratch-resistant surface for dry areas
  • Hardwood: for spaces where a real wood look matters

What helps us quote your space

A first call goes faster when you have a few details at hand:

  • Approximate square footage and how many rooms, suites or corridors
  • What's on the floor now, and whether it's glued down
  • Your operating hours and any days the space must stay open
  • Access: elevators, loading areas, parking for the crew
  • Desks, shelving or fixtures that sit on the floor
  • Whether the landlord or building management has rules for contractors

How a commercial job is planned

The biggest difference from a home is fitting the work around your business.

  1. Describe the space

Square footage, current floor, how the space is used and any timing constraints.

  2. Site visit

We measure, check the existing floor and subfloor, and bring samples.

  3. Agree on a sequence

When the work happens, and in what order the areas are done.

  4. Removal and prep

The old floor comes out and the subfloor is leveled where needed; see floor removal and subfloor preparation.

  5. Installation and finish

New floor, transitions between areas and baseboard and trim installation.

What shapes a commercial flooring quote

Commercial quotes rest on the same basics as residential ones, plus the realities of a working space.

  • Area and layout, including corridors and small rooms
  • Existing floor to remove and subfloor condition
  • Material chosen for the traffic level
  • Phasing so parts of the space stay usable
  • Trim and transitions

Commercial flooring questions

What kinds of commercial spaces do you work in?

Business spaces such as offices and shops. Call (407) 427-8271 and describe yours, including size, current floor and how it's used, and we'll tell you if it's a good fit.

What flooring do you install in commercial spaces?

Vinyl plank, laminate and hardwood. Vinyl plank is a frequent pick for business spaces because it holds up to traffic and spills.

Which floor holds up to rolling chairs and carts?

Glue-down or rigid-core vinyl with a thick wear layer copes well with casters; chair mats help any floor. Laminate resists scratches but prefers dry areas. We talk it through at the site visit.

Can you work around our business hours?

The schedule is planned with you before the job starts. Tell us your hours and constraints on the call, and we'll discuss what's possible for your space.

Do you remove the existing commercial floor?

Yes. Removal and subfloor preparation are part of the job, done by the crew that installs the new floor.

Do you supply the flooring material?

Yes. Samples come to your site so you can choose the product in the space where it will go.

How is a commercial job priced?

After a site visit. Area, existing floor, subfloor condition, the material and any phasing all affect the quote.

Can the work be done in phases so we stay open?

Phasing is something we can plan together at the site visit, depending on the layout and the size of the job.

Which areas do you cover for commercial work?

We're based in Orlando and work across the surrounding cities. See areas we serve for the list.
