Second stories and darker finishes in Alafaya
In an Alafaya house, older dark plank was pulled from the front entry, the closets and the upstairs hallway beside the stair railing. Rustic medium-brown plank took its place, and the downstairs entry and upstairs hallway match.
Another house had espresso-toned flooring along its upstairs hallway and stair landing. Gray vinyl plank replaced it, with transitions at each bedroom doorway. The landing's edge was part of the work too.
The third project is a spacious bedroom: carpet pulled, dark gray-brown plank laid wall to wall, with before-and-after shots from the same angle. Alafaya shares east Orlando with Avalon Park, and Oviedo is a neighbor.

Can you redo an upstairs hallway and landing without touching the stairs?
Absolutely. Two Alafaya projects on this page covered only an upstairs hallway and landing. Should you want the steps done as well, stair flooring can be added to the same project.
Our flooring is dark. Can we go lighter, maybe gray?
Of course. The dark flooring comes up, the base is prepped and the lighter shade goes in. In Alafaya, espresso became gray, and older dark plank became rustic medium brown. Samples let you compare shades beside your own windows.
Will the closets get the replacement flooring too?
That's up to you. In an Alafaya house, plank continues from the upstairs hallway into the closets.
