Our Oviedo project covered a single bedroom. The carpet was pulled, and medium brown wood-look plank went wall to wall, right up to the French doors and remaining doorways. A lone room gets the full sequence a whole floor would: old covering off, subfloor checked, new plank cut to fit at each opening.
Doorways show the quality of an installation. The plank is trimmed to fit around the door frames, and doors get checked to swing clear over the new floor. Against a different surface, a transition closes the gap and gives a finished edge. Glass doors also bring in sun. If the new floor is vinyl, the bright strip in front of them needs a full expansion gap, since vinyl expands as it warms; blinds or UV film slow the fading strong afternoon light causes over the years.
Oviedo is in Seminole County, northeast of Orlando. Nearby, we replaced glossy beige tile in a Winter Springs bedroom and closet with a multi-tone gray-brown plank, and put rustic medium-brown plank through an Alafaya entry and an upstairs hallway beside the railing.

Laminate is a layered plank with a high-density fiberboard core under a tough clear wear layer, so it resists scratches and dents; its weak spot is standing water. Vinyl plank copes with water better and is quieter underfoot. In a bedroom, either works, and we bring samples of both.
