A bedroom and a bathroom in St. Cloud

In a St. Cloud bedroom, the carpet was taken up and light, whitewashed wood-look plank was laid throughout the room. That was the simpler of the two jobs, with nothing ceramic to break, only carpet to pull before the subfloor got checked.

At a second St. Cloud home, the beige ceramic tile in a bathroom and toilet alcove was broken out, and white stone-look vinyl was laid in that space. At the doorways to the hallway and a bedroom with carpet, a transition marks the switch.

St. Cloud lies southeast of Kissimmee in Osceola County, near Poinciana. Most homes we serve are within about 45 minutes of our Orlando base, St. Cloud among them.

Services for St. Cloud homes

Bathroom jobs hinge on one question: does the tile get removed, or can it stay under the new floor? Loose or cracked tile has to go. On such jobs, day one is demolition, with the ceramic and its mortar broken up and carried out, and the vinyl goes in the day after. Firm tile can receive a skin coat that flattens the grout lines, with vinyl plank laid over it.

St. Cloud flooring questions

Must bathroom tile be taken up to get vinyl?

Not always. In the St. Cloud bathroom pictured, the tile was taken up. If tile is firm, vinyl plank can be laid over it once a skin coat is down, and a free in-home estimate settles the right route. Read about laying vinyl on firm tile.

How many days for a bathroom floor?

If the tile is being removed, plan on a day for demolition and haul-off; the vinyl goes down the day after. Covering firm tile skips the demolition day. Leveling compound, if a subfloor calls for it, adds about a day to cure.

Do you install vinyl in bathrooms?

Yes. The St. Cloud bathroom shown here changed from beige ceramic to white stone-look vinyl, toilet alcove included. Read about vinyl plank installation.

Where does the old tile go?

Out with us. Broken ceramic, old carpet and job debris are carted away by us, never left in your bins.
