Projects in and near Lake Mary

The darker plank job is in Lake Mary. Sanford and Longwood, both close by, supplied the rest.

Changing an existing floor in Lake Mary

Not every Lake Mary job starts with carpet or tile. Our project here replaced a medium-brown oak-look plank floor already in place with a darker wood-look plank through the living room and hallways, meeting the existing tile at the edges. Plank comes up without the demolition tile needs: boards lifted, old underlayment rolled away, glue residue scraped off.

Close by in Sanford, an older floor was stripped to the slab, and brown wood-look plank followed through the living room, entry and hallways. In Longwood, carpet was pulled, the concrete patched level, and medium brown oak-look plank laid, with transitions to the carpet left in place.

Lake Mary is in Seminole County, north of Orlando along I-4, with Sanford, Longwood and DeBary close by. Choosing a color is easier at home: each sample shows up in your own daylight and lamplight, beside the tile, walls and furniture staying put. A matte, textured finish disguises light scuffs far better than a slick, glossy one, and texture, bevels and plank length change the look more than the label on the box.

What we do for Lake Mary homes

No need to shop for flooring first. We bring samples and help you narrow them down, then take the job from tear-out to the last baseboard.

Lake Mary flooring questions

Will you replace a plank floor already in place?

Yes. In Lake Mary, an older medium-brown oak-look plank floor gave way to a darker wood-look plank through the living room and hallways.

Which way should new plank run?

Usually along the longest wall, or in the direction you face walking in. With hallways and several rooms, a single direction throughout tends to look most natural. We settle it with you before any plank is cut.

What wear layer do I need?

The wear layer is the clear top film that takes the scuffs, measured in mils. Thicker layers hold up longer in hallways, entries and homes with big dogs; a guest room gets by with less. The figure is printed on every sample we show.

Could hardwood replace my old plank?

Yes. Oak accepts stain evenly and hides everyday scuffs, hickory is among the hardest common domestic species, and maple is pale with a tight grain. Factory-finished boards arrive already coated, making rooms usable once the boards are laid. More on hardwood flooring installation.
