Carpet up, slab leveled, new plank down.

KPC Flooring replaces carpet around Longwood and gets the concrete flat before the new floor goes in. Rooms keeping their carpet get a proper threshold.
The carpet job is in Longwood; the other two are from Altamonte Springs and Lake Mary, on either side.

Our Longwood project began with carpet. With it pulled, the bare slab needed patching to bring it level, and only afterward did medium brown oak-look plank run through the living room, hallway and closets. Carpet stayed elsewhere in the home, and transitions give the change of floor a finished edge.
Under carpet there's more than carpet: pad, staples, and tack strips nailed around the perimeter, often with paint drips along the walls. Everything goes. Next, a straightedge crosses the slab to find humps and hollows. High spots get ground; small low spots get patched and feathered by hand. Where a wider stretch is off, self-leveling compound is poured, a mix that flows and settles flat, needing roughly a day to cure before installing. Skip the step, and a floating floor flexes at the joints under footsteps, showing up later as gaps, peaked seams or a hollow, bouncy feel.
Longwood is in Seminole County, north of Orlando, between Altamonte Springs and Lake Mary. In both neighbors we've replaced older oak-look floors: one stripped to the concrete for gray vinyl plank through a kitchen and bathroom, a second swapped for darker plank in a living room and hallways.
Longwood projects include tearing up the old floor and carrying the debris away. You choose the new floor and the trim.

Yes. In our Longwood project, the living room, hallway and closets got new plank, and transitions finish the edge against the remaining carpet.
Yes, over the right underlayment. On concrete, the pad also needs a moisture barrier, built in or as a separate sheet. Laminate floats, and its locking edges need a flat base to stay tight.
Yes. In the Longwood project, the plank carries on through the closets instead of stopping at the closet door.
We do: the carpet gets rolled up with the pad, tack strips and staples get pulled, and it all leaves with the rest of the debris.
Yes, if you want them. Most baseboard today is MDF or finger-jointed pine; near exterior doors or anywhere mopped often, PVC trim won't swell. More on baseboards and trim.
